Life as an Online Student
Monday
On Monday, Angie plans her weekly activities. When she gets home from work, she logs into the class Web site to check e-mails from her facilitator and read announcements and discussion boards. Depending on how much reading is assigned that week, she will spend two to four hours reading assigned course materials.
Tuesday
Angie goes to work in the morning. She uses her lunch break to catch up on any reading she could not complete from the night before. When she gets home, she checks the class Web site for updates. If there are no other assignments, she will continue her reading assignments.
Wednesday
Some classes have short essays due on Wednesday, which she will complete and submit. She will also check the class Web site for updates and finish her weekly reading.
Thursday
Angie takes the night off to lead a ministry group at her church. Getting home late, she can still check the class Web site, which is available at any hour. She usually logs in just to check for updates and grades.
Friday
After work, Angie usually goes to dinner with friends. She then comes home and starts working on her assignment, which is due on Sunday.
Saturday
Angie takes the morning for herself and sleeps in. Later in the day, she goes to the local library to get away from tempting distractions at home. She stays there until the majority of her assignment is done. If she finishes early, she goes out to dinner with friends.
Sunday
After church and lunch with her family, Angie usually puts the finishing touches on her assignment and submits it. Then she completes her discussion board questions. The rest of the day is hers to relax, but she usually ends up doing housework!
