Law Enforcement and Crime Prevention Student Story
Michael Kilbane has been a Police Officer for over 20 years. After working his way up to Sergeant, he realized that he had aspirations to move into a greater leadership position within the department. But being a leader presented new challenges, and he found himself confronted with new problems each day. He realized that education would provide the base from which to deal with larger and more complex issues. In just two short years he graduated with his Master’s degree in Criminal Justice. Armed with newfound skills in policy writing, research, and administration, he has already been promoted once and now has his eyes set on becoming Chief of Police.
“This is a challenging Criminal Justice degree program, but the benefits are immeasurable — from the way you make decisions to the way you deal with people. This degree gives you an incredible competitive advantage when you seek out a promotion.”
— Michael Kilbane, Sergeant
